Kurō is a Melbourne residential builder specialising in architectural renovations, extensions and custom homes. With family roots in the building trade dating back to 1952, and a belief in taking on only a small number of projects at a time, our team promises a more detailed and client focused build.
OUR Story
Three generations connected to the trade.
Experience in the trade since 1952, 3 generations of builders, 3 generations of judgement going into every decision.
1952
Beginnings
Our family arrives in Australia, and builds a life around the construction industry.
1975
Family traditions
Inspired by his father and uncles who arrived in Australia in the 50's, Ron Milone starts his own building business.
2000
Honing the craft
Rontrac is born, and with a focus on smaller, more detailed builds, lays the foundation of what Kurō is today.
2007
Evolution
After gaining a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Dan Milone joins his father Ron, working as a carpenter to learn the trade.
Today
Kurō
Rontrac becomes Kurō. Carrying over the same values and experience Dan learned from the previous generations of his family.
The junction where solid oak flooring meets a stone hearth is a small detail most people will never notice.
It’s also the kind of detail that tells you how a project was run.
KURŌ – DETAILED. DISCIPLINED. CALM
Why Kurō exists
Because the process is just as
important as the end result.
Kurō exists to give clients a calmer, predictable building experience by bringing architecturally designed and custom builds to life through a process designed around respect for communication and detail.
